Our work is an EMPOWERMENT strategy that uses surplus IT hardware from the UK to provide agencies with the resources to set up IT centres alongside their own street child outreach and educational facilities. We are based in Hull, Yorkshire, U.K. and were established in November 2004.

"Giving children a fighting chance in a modern world."

We all know that some children in Africa and India have a fight for survival on their hands. It’s a daily struggle for life through no fault of their own - poor parents, poor diet and poor prospects. But we have seen first hand what African children can do with even meagre resources – given half a chance.
StreetLITES-Africa has established a relationship with people who are keen to work through I.T. to improve the quality of life to the very poor in Ghana. Through their network of 64 schools, they are endeavouring to reach the poorest of society who are without any hope and, without education, are condemned to destitution. We aim to provide free education and I.T. courses to enable them to fulfill their true potential.

We are collecting working but redundant PCs, gathered from individuals, schools and businesses. Our first batch has been shipped to Ghana and our training team went out to Ghana during Easter 2006 on a self-funded trip to set up I.T. training and care packages with suitably trained local teachers in 2 schools.

Please give these children a fighting chance in a modern world.
